Mr. Ankit Choudhury is an Associate Partner at Diwan
Advocates and joined the firm on 1 December 2025. He completed his Bachelor of
Laws (LL.B.) from Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, Guru Gobind
Singh Indraprastha University, graduating in 2015 with First Division.
He primarily practices
before the High Court of Delhi and the District Courts of Delhi, and has also
appeared before specialized forums such as the Central Administrative Tribunal
and arbitral tribunals at the Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC).
Ankit’s core areas of
practice encompass civil litigation, including matters relating to specific
performance, injunctions, declarations, and recovery proceedings; criminal
litigation, with experience in quashing of FIRs and matters under Section 498A
IPC; arbitration and mediation; as well as matrimonial and family law disputes.
He also has substantial experience in conveyancing and property-related
matters.
His approach to legal
practice is detail-oriented, strategy-driven, and court-focused. He places
strong emphasis on thorough preparation, providing realistic and candid advice
to clients, and maintaining transparency at every stage of litigation, while diligently
safeguarding the client’s legal and procedural interests.
Ankit is motivated by the
intellectual rigor of litigation, the opportunity to guide clients through
complex legal situations, and the professional satisfaction derived from
effective courtroom advocacy and problem-solving. One of the most meaningful
aspects of his career has been handling matters independently before the High
Court and District Courts, particularly cases where procedural setbacks were
overcome through persistent legal effort, detailed arguments, and strategic
applications, ultimately securing relief for clients despite adverse
circumstances.
Outside of his
professional work, Ankit enjoys sports, particularly football and table tennis,
and takes an active interest in reading and staying updated on legal
developments. He also enjoys travelling and watching movies, activities that
help him maintain balance and focus.
A principle that strongly
resonates with him is: “No man is above the law and no man is below it.”
— Theodore Roosevelt.
At Diwan Advocates, he
values the firm’s professional environment, exposure to diverse legal issues,
and emphasis on high-quality legal work, which aligns closely with his
litigation-focused background and long-term professional aspirations.
