Mr. Utsav Saurav is a
Principal Associate at Diwan Advocates, having joined the firm on 08 December
2025. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons.) and a Bachelor of Business
Administration (B.B.A.) from Galgotias University, combining legal acumen with
a strong understanding of commercial and business realities.
He is an Internationally
Certified Mediator, accredited by the International Mediation Institute (IMI),
The Hague. His professional training spans multiple jurisdictions and
disciplines, including International Law in Action: Arbitration of
International Disputes from Universiteit Leiden, Netherlands, Mastering the
Craft of Mediation by Christina Arzumanova (Eurasia Mediation), Online Dispute
Resolution Mechanism from NISM, and Oil & Gas Industry Operations and
Markets from Duke University, USA.
Utsav is an active
participant in the global dispute resolution community. He is a member of the
Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), serves as an Ambassador and
Mentor at IAMPE, Tbilisi (Georgia), is the Country Representative for Med Arb International
(India Chapter), and represented Team India at IDMC 2025 on the global stage in
Peace and Diplomacy at Cyprus.
His practice primarily
spans the District Courts and the High Court of Delhi, as well as courts and
forums in Faridabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar. His core areas of expertise
include arbitration, mediation, civil law, and matrimonial matters, with a
strong emphasis on dispute resolution and negotiated outcomes.
Utsav adopts a balanced
and strategic approach to legal practice, integrating effective advocacy with
structured, solution-oriented problem solving. His focus remains on achieving
outcomes that are practical, enforceable, and commercially sensible, while
aligning with the client’s broader objectives.
He is particularly
motivated by complex disputes involving layered legal and factual issues, where
in-depth legal analysis, strategic planning, and effective communication are
critical to achieving sustainable results.
Outside his professional
commitments, Utsav finds creative expression in writing poetry. He is currently
authoring a book titled “Mediation in India: Law, Practice and Jurisprudence.”
